The short version
Circle to Fix does not collect, store or sell your data. There are no accounts. Screenshots and prompts are built in your browser and only go to your clipboard and your Downloads folder. The one exception is Improve with AI, described below.
What the extension handles
When you press ⌥⇧S or click the toolbar icon, Circle to Fix captures a screenshot of the current tab, your annotations, and, if you use the element picker, the selected element's selector and trimmed HTML. It also reads the page URL, viewport size and stack hints such as Next.js.
All of this stays on your machine. The screenshot is saved to Downloads/CircleToFix and the prompt is copied to your clipboard. Nothing is sent to us unless you click Improve with AI.
Improve with AI (optional)
Circle to Fix sends the prompt text to Groq only when you click Improve with AI. Without your own key it goes through our relay (a Cloudflare Worker), which forwards it to Groq with our key and does not store or log it. Your IP address is used briefly for rate limiting. The screenshot is never sent.
If you add your own Groq API key, it is kept in chrome.storage on your machine and the text goes straight to Groq instead of through our relay.
Groq's handling of that text is covered by Groq's own privacy policy. If you never click Improve, Circle to Fix makes no network requests.
Permissions
activeTab and scripting let Circle to Fix run only on the tab where you invoke it, not on every page you visit. storage keeps your settings and optional key. clipboardWrite copies the prompt. downloads saves the screenshot. Direct access to Groq is requested only if you add your own key.
Analytics and tracking
The extension contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code.
